In the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, this 17th-century inn has been a meeting place of writers, actors and artists since the 18th century.
The Shakespeare retains much of its original architectural character, but has also benefited over the years from sympathetic and careful modernisation.
Behind the distinctive front, the hotel has 74 en suite rooms, including 3 four-poster rooms and 7 suites. Antique furnishings and period decor create a mood of relaxed elegance, while personal service and facilities combine to ensure you'll have everything you need
The hotel is full of character, with oak beams, creaky floorboards and open fires. All of the rooms are named after the plays and characters of William Shakespeare.
Every day between 14:30 and 17:30, a choice of freshly brewed teas, delicious sandwiches, tempting pastries and scones (with jam and cream) are served in the delightful surroundings of the lounge and Quill bar.
On-site car parking is subject to availability, on a first come first served basis. There is an additional cost (please see the 'Hotel Facilities' section).
Cheaper car parking is available off site at a local NCP car park.

Choose between the hotel's 2 restaurants. The 'David Garrick' has an AA Rosette-quality menu. The 'Othello's Bar Brasserie' offers a contemporary atmosphere and informal dining with a Garden Terrace, ideal for light afternoon snacks and summer evening cocktails.
Leave the m40 at junction 15, taking the a46 and the a439 towards Stratford. On approach to town, join the one way system to town centre, take Bridge Street to the roundabout and then left into High Street, which leads into Chapel Street.
